Large Antique Pottery 3 GAL Stoneware Beehive Jug withHandle Fantastic Glaze EXC

This great jug has been in my family for as long as I can remember. And I have two rowdy Dobermans that might one day knock it over. It is quite heavy weighing around 12 pounds. It stands nearly 14″ and is 10″ at the base. The only mark is the number 3 which you can see in the pictures. The high glaze is quite unique being brown and shows some red also in bright light. The pictures make it show more than it looks… When looking at it you only see dark brown. There is no major damage to this great piece. There is a small insignificant chip on the bottom and some scratches (see the last picture) which I mention for accuracy. I also had two friends who are knowledgeable in stoneware check it for any cracks etc. And found it to be very sound. They dated it to have been made in the mid-late 1800’s.
