Early Goodwin & Webster Brown Glazed Semi Ovoid Stoneware Crock Pottery Jar Aafa
For your consideration is a Goodwin & Webster, Brown glazed, Semi Ovoid, Stoneware/Pottery Crock jar. Jar of brown with lighter brown glaze, incised GOODWIN & WEBSTER. Piece measures 9 -1/4″ Tall, base is a little over 5″ in diameter, and the top is 7 to 7 -1/4 in diameter depending on which side you measure from. Due to age and use the brown glaze shows surface wear around the base, top edge, and the body of the crock. There are no cracks but there are several chips around the top edge and one below the handle (picture 6). There are also some tiny nicks here and there. This is a wonderful crock with lots of character… Lopsided and out of round.
