A nice early American salt glaze stoneware pottery jug. Likely made in Ohio or elsewhere in the Mid-west in the last quarter of the 19th century. A script number 3 on the face done in cobalt slip. The jug had several areas of salt drips or turkey droppings that add to the charm of the piece. A good clean example. 13 3/4″ tall and roughly 10″ in diameter. No chips or cracks.
