Rare Antique Primitive Stoneware Jar Signed Isaac Gay Union County NC Churn Jug

You are ordering this antique / primitive, signed, Isaac E. Gay, glazed, 3 gallon, stoneware jar / jug / churn. I Gay in script, vertically, under glaze. Please see my short “Condition-CAM” video below for the best views of condition. Measurements: Approximately 16″ tall, 7.25″ diameter at lip. Just under 13 pounds empty. As-found condition with wear and damage commiserate with age and use. Gay (born 1835, died 1904). In 1861 he was listed in the Census for Beaufort Township, North Carolina. In June of the same year he enlisted in the Confederate Army in Union County, North Carolina. He was later wounded at the Battle of Malvern Hill, Virginia. He was discharged and received pension in December 1864. In 1870 and 1880 he was listed in the Union County census as a potter.
