Pair Belka Stentoj Sconces. Designer or Artist: N/A Year Of Design: c. 1970 Company or Studio: Belka Stentoj Country: Denmark. Height: 150 mm / 5.9″ Width or Diameter: 260 mm / 10.2″. Notes: A vintage pair of pottery wall lamps (that could also function as unusual table lamps, if you were so inclined) by Danish manufacturers, Belka Stentoj (stoneware), in the 1970s. They comprise a hand thrown bowl for the main shade, a deep glossy red interior over a ground of dark matt brown, with a hand-built pierced cylinder as a diffuser in the centre. They would have been designed for silver- or gold-crown bulbs (bulbs with mirrored tips that bounce the light back into the lamp), which would cast out an interesting pattern of light from the pierced diffuser. They hang via a loop of metal threaded through the lamps. They accept E27 Edison Screw bulbs. They are stamped’Belka’ to the side and bear original labels to the back. Extremely minor and isloated signs of age-comensurate wear. The item “Vintage 1970s Danish Belka Stoneware Pottery Pair Red & Brown Wall Sconce Lamps” is in sale since Thursday, October 8, 2020.
