Newark NJ stoneware crock/jug. An impressive 4- liner on a tiny half gallon jug probably made by Fulper at the turn of the century. Unfortunately, the original jug took an accident and caused a craftsmen to fashion the jug into a practical crock container. This would have originally been a small half gallon jug and now its been repurposed. The artifact is a nice addition to any collection as a place holder or substantial example of history or a practical vase or crock. Full of charm and intrigue. Blue cobalt lettering and a double address to the name Joe Mann /Court street and Ferry St. Its amazing they jammed 4 lines onto this small vessel in a tiny little half gallon jug. Two addresses depicted but no STATE MENTIONED. Measures 5-1/2 x 5-7/8 inches. I would guess the jug would have been 8 inches high before it was cut. The old jug was cut open and you can still see the base of the handle on the backside. Please see the photos and ask any questions. Please ask any specific questions you may have.
