Offered here is a very nice tiny one gallon antique stoneware jar from New York State featuring the Whites, Utica New York fan tail bird. Jar is NOT marked, but the bird is classic Whites Pottery dating 1860s to 1880s. Jar is in very good condition, no cracks, hairlines, chips, stains or repairs. The only fault is shallow chipping around edge of jar. If you would like to see more pictures, please ask. The shallow chipping really does not take away from the jar or displaying the jar. Jar measures approximately 9 1/2 tall, the base measures 6 3/4 and top 6. Very strong cobalt decorated bird, Ive shown it inside and also in sunlight. A bird decorated jar this size is rather rare. The small pieces just did not get decorated like the larger pieces. Makes a great counter display piece and is small enough to fit almost anywhere to display.
