Very nice antique English puzzle jug with bluish green slip decoration and embossed saying in the front “GENTLEMEN COME TRY YOUR SKILL I’LL HOLD YOU SIXPENCE IF YOU WILL YOU CANNOT DRINK UNLESS YOU SPILL”. It has a minor base rim chip and a couple of small chips to the top points, otherwise fine. Overall outstanding condition with no repair. Dates circa 1840 or so.
